The Thrive Approach

What is the Thrive approach?

The Thrive approach is a therapeutic technique to help support young people with their social and emotional development. Our focus is to build secure relationships and provide positive experiences for young people. Thrive helps young people to feel safe, supported and understood; all of which are needed to enable learning to take place. How do we do this?

  1. We aim to screen all children and young people against age related expectations, which will enable us to identify those that would benefit from additional support, either as a group or individually.

  2. We use a range of simple strategies and activities that are targeted and effective to meet the child or group’s identified needs. These strategies and activities encourage positive relationships and are often creative and art-based.

  3. We then chart and measure the progress of individuals and groups over time through a review and re-assessment process. The goal is to bring children to an age-appropriate stage of social and emotional development in order to ‘Thrive’.
